Compassionate Hearts
Guided By Jesus
As we merge Christian values with the beautiful aspects of local culture, villages thrive. As Malawians serve Malawians, villages are reformed with hearts open to Christ as their King.
When on medical outreaches and other programs, we share the gospel of Christ written on yellow scarfs.
Biblical verses explaining the Gospel message are printed in the local language of Chichewa on the left, and in English on the right. Down the middle are pictures representing what the verses illuminate.
These scarfs are left with the village communities so they can be reflected upon and shared. After we share, it’s common for us to see a person concentrating on the scarfs, absorbing the message
In our return visits to the village, we find the scarfs hung up in homes and used as head coverings. The locals enjoy telling us how they keep the scarfs with them for sharing with others.
Medical Outreach
PB+J was founded in 2012 to combat the deadly effects Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) has on children. The ministry conducts medical outreaches several times a week in Malawian villages evaluating up to 300 children in each outreach. Approximately 30% of the children evaluated fall in a category of malnourishment or in the range of SAM.
Gospel Ministry
The knowledge and love of Christ are spread to many through PB+J’s use of yellow scarfs to share the Gospel message, as well as the organized efforts of the Chief’s Ministry.
Sports Ministry
So many children in Malawi never get a chance to play. Through our sports ministry, we gather children and give them the chance to be kids. Once relationships are built, we take a break and share the gospel in age-appropriate ways. Seeds are planted and children are smiling.

PB+J has employed and trained an incredible team of local Malawians to run PB+J on a daily basis. Malawians serving Malawians.
